The Concept of Kuṇḍalinī in past is mentioned in the Upanishads in 9th and 7th centuries BCE. The Sanskrit adjective Kuṇḍalin translates to circular or annular. It is mentioned as a noun for the Snake in the sense of Being coiled or entwined.
Kuṇḍa, a noun meaning a *Fire pit* is found as the name of a Nāga which is a Serpent Deity in Mahabharata. The 8th century Tantrasadbhava Tantra, as well refers to the term Kundalī or a Ring, a coiled entwined shape, etc.

The use of Kuṇḍalī as a name for Goddess Durga which is a form of Shakti, appears often in Tantrism and Shaktism from as early as the 11th century. Adopted, as a technical term in Hatha Yoga during the 15th century, it was thus becoming widely spread in the Yoga Upanishads by the 16th century.
Eknath Easwaran has paraphrased the term as the *coiled power*, a primodial inert force, which ordinarily idles at the base of the spine or within Muladhara Kundalini Vortex, described as being coiled or entwined there like a Serpent ... Kuṇḍalinī Arose, as a Central concept in Śaiva Tantra. In these Tantric traditions, Kuṇḍalinī is the Innate Intelligence of the realized embodied Divine Consciousness.

The first possible mention of the term is in the Tantrasadbhāva Tantra in the 8th century, though other earlier Tantras mention the visualization of Śākti in the Central Channels, and the upward movement or Arising of a Prana or Vital Force, or Kuṇḍalinī ...

The Kundalini Force at the Base of the spine, is connected to the Silver Cord and to the Pineal Gland in the brain. When the Pineal Gland receives enough Arousal or impulses of the Higher dimensional spectrum of Frequencies, it begins to Activate the Soul Essence Energy within the Spiritual aetheric body, as well as the process of DNA Activation, is initiated. Ultimately, upon Spiritual Awakening of the Inner Divine Flame of  Source Light, in the tailbone this, Individual Internal Flame travels up the Kundalini Currents, gradually moving up the body’s vertical column to eventually expresses as, or Channels into Vortexes of EM Light impulses, radiating straight from the Heart Center. Once the Inner Divine Flame moves up the Central Kundalini column into the Higher Heart dimension, it begins to communicate with the Thymus Gland Energy Vortex or Chakra, all while the hormones are being released into the blood to create the complex biochem reactions ergo energetic impulses required to ignite the Divine Consciousness or Soul Essence of the Source Light, in the upper Heart area, from the Central point which upholds the Kundalini connection, to the Heart Center or Vortex at the subatomic level of the Consciousness expansion, into the 8th Chakra Energy Center, or Divine Vortex ...

Emphasis Being on the Individual possibility or ability of holding within their actual Spiritual DNA Template, and Anchoring, the Divine Essence Source Energy.
